v1.23.0 - v1.26.0
The headline this round is For You, a personalized home that greets you with what to play next, plus a daily News briefing, a warmer welcome for new players, and a stack of fixes that make everything feel steadier.
New
For You is a personalized home that meets you the moment you sign in, with rails for what's trending, new releases, critically acclaimed picks, games matched to your taste, and the latest reviews from the community.
News is a For You Today briefing that gathers gaming news tuned to the games you actually play, refreshed on a regular cadence.
Getting Started is a new onboarding walkthrough for fresh accounts, plus achievements that pop in, confetti and all, as you hit the milestones that open up the full Retrospect experience.
You can now reset your own password. Request a link by email, set a new one, and you're back in. No more getting locked out.
Posts and reviews are now shareable. Each one has its own permalink page you can link, share, and send straight to a friend.
Play sessions let you log how long you played a game session by session, with the option to update its status at the same time.
Reactions and replies now work on reviews too, bringing the same emoji reactions and threaded replies as the rest of the feed and turning a review into a conversation.
The overlay dock now embeds the same journal, notes, and gallery as the main app, so you're no longer stuck with a simpler version while you play.
You can now fix a misfiled copy. The Edit Copy dialog can change which game a copy belongs to, and you can select several copies with checkboxes and delete them at once.
Discover's Official Releases filter gained a Released status, so you can zero in on what's already out.
Improved
Discovery is faster and sharper. The For You home loads much quicker now that personalized rails are cached, Trending reflects games people intentionally add rather than bulk Steam or import syncs, and your News no longer repeats articles you've already seen.
Similar games are smarter. Recommendations now key off a game's original launch platform, so you get results that match the console it came out on, and they load several times faster.
I'm Feeling Lucky now respects whatever Discover filters you've set.
Library status is easier to read at a glance. Grid cards show it as an icon in the corner that matches list view, with a compact icon mode for dense lists.
Game details open faster. Clicking a library list row opens the game detail dialog, which now fills the width and looks clean on mobile.
Gallery got some polish, with loading spinners on the image viewer and uploads so you're never staring at a blank frame.
The site is quieter and faster. We hardened Retrospect against the recent surge of AI scrapers and bot traffic, which keeps pages snappy for actual humans.
Fixed
No more surprise logouts. We fixed a race in how sessions refresh between the main window and the overlay that could sign desktop users out in the middle of a session, sometimes within 10 to 15 minutes.
Full screen stays put. The Full Screen button no longer falls back to the original game when you've drilled into a different one.
Breadcrumb cutoff is gone. The game detail dialog no longer clips its breadcrumb, and it behaves on mobile.
