The headline addition is Lists — ranked or freeform collections of games and hardware that you can keep private or share to the feed. Alongside it: a full search results page, click-to-reveal spoiler tags in the editors, sorting, filtering and a grid view for Copies, and a substantial privacy pass across photos, search, and analytics.
New Features
Lists: Build lists of games and platforms (up to 200 items each), either Ranked with a podium view or Freeform as a grid. Add a note to any pick, keep a list private, or share it to the feed where others can react and reply.
Search Results Page: The search dropdown now has a "View All Results" link that opens a full page with separate Games, Journals, Notes, and Reviews sections, plus filter chips to narrow down to a single result type.
Spoiler Tags: Journal entries and notes can now hide text behind a click-to-reveal spoiler. Readers uncover it on demand, and it re-covers the next time the entry is opened.
"I'm Feeling Lucky" in My Library: The random game picker from Discover now works on your own library, drawing from whatever filter is active — set the filter to Wishlist and it picks something you're still waiting on.
Copies Sorting and Filtering: Sort your copies by date added, acquisition date, release date, or name, and filter by platform, format, completeness, condition, region, edition, and storefront. Only the values you actually own are offered as options.
Copies Grid View: A list/grid toggle on the Copies page for browsing a large collection by cover art. Multi-select and bulk delete work the same in both views.
Reply Images: Replies to posts and reviews can now carry up to four image attachments each, matching the photo limits posts already allowed.
Platform Logos: Hardware now displays its real platform logo everywhere it appears, with the abbreviation badge kept as a fallback for platforms that don't have one.
Privacy and Security
Photo metadata is now stripped: Public post images are re-encoded on upload to remove EXIF data — camera make and model, serial numbers, capture timestamps, and GPS coordinates. Images posted before this update were scrubbed as part of the release. Private gallery images were never public and are unchanged.
Note and journal search moved onto your device: Searching your own notes and private journals now runs against an index built in your browser and held in memory only, so the server no longer keeps a searchable copy of private entry text. Shared journals still use server-side search so other people can find them.
Desktop app hardening: The desktop app now blocks off-origin navigation, validates privileged internal messages, and ships with Electron's security fuses enabled. Stored sign-in details are encrypted at rest — see the note at the bottom.
Privacy-first analytics: Retrospect now uses PostHog for product analytics, configured cookieless: no browser storage, no session or screen recording, and no personal identifiers attached to events. It runs in production only, through a first-party endpoint.

Searching mid-word now matches — "trosp" finds "Retrospect" in your own notes and journals
Clicking a game in search results opens the game detail dialog instead of navigating away from the page
The Document, Form, and Canvas journal editors now share one left sidebar, so pages, fields, and elements all behave identically
For You and Lists now match the page width of Discover and the detail pages
Search results and Copies filters discard slow, out-of-order responses instead of letting them overwrite fresher ones
Crawler blocking and bot rate limits are now managed in-app and take effect immediately
The footer copyright now links back to retrospect.gg
Bug Fixes
The game detail dialog keeps a constant height when switching tabs instead of resizing to fit each tab's content
Attached games, and their unsaved play sessions, are no longer lost when switching a journal entry between Document, Form, and Canvas
Platform dropdowns in form journals now populate for games attached from a link or after a page reload
"I'm Feeling Lucky" can no longer return a result drawn from a filter you had just changed
The rich text editor header no longer covers the top of the editor at narrow window widths
The lucky button no longer paints a drop shadow under Retro OS 98, where every other control is flat
